Job Vacancy – Experienced Mechanical CAD Design Engineer
Job Description
- Designing and detailing products to strict manufacturing standards
- Project responsibility from concept to completion
- Re-Engineering existing designs to suit latest requirements
- Preparation of full detail manufacturing drawings (2D & 3D)
- Responsibility for maintaining the ISO 9001 & ISO14001 systems
Background / skill requirements
- Excellent thorough knowledge and practical experience of AutoCad 2D & Solid Works - 3D)
- Knowledge / experience of 2D & 3D Cad Design Engineering
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 is essential
- Able to work on own initiative
- Design experience in mechanical, fabrication & engineering disciplines
- Energetic and flexible work ethic - multi-tasking ability
Salary
Salary will be negotiable, based on experience.
Location
Drawing Office at Amberley Court, Sheffield S9.
Conditions
- 37 Hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8-30 to 5-00, Friday 8-30 to 2.00
- Half hour lunch break daily
- Full time permanent position for the right person
- Initial 6 months trial period
- Immediate start available.
Applicant must also have a good working knowledge of: -
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Access databases etc
- Good telephone manner essential for customer / supplier contact
Duties include (But not limited to): -
- Contact with new and existing customers
- Assistance in preparation of quotations
- General administration of drawing office related functions
- Obtaining quotations from approved suppliers
- Preparing specifications and purchase orders to suppliers.
- Preparation of work instructions, parts lists etc. & liaison with the manufacturing dept.
Specific ‘on the job’ training will be given to supplement the above core skills
The successful applicant will be required to operate and maintain the company’s long established ISO 9001 quality & ISO 14001 environmental systems.
Occasional visits to customers / suppliers’ premises in the UK may be required

Job Vacancy – Field Service Engineer
Job Description
Key Duties
- Visits to customer’s premises in the UK and possibly overseas, to service tool setting and gauging equipment. This may occasionally entail staying away from home for multiple nights during the week.
- Visits to customers to install new equipment /carry out regular annual maintenance/repair faulty equipment.
- Personal contact with Customers with respect to arranging service calls.
- Assistance with installation of all equipment on projects in the UK and overseas
- General administration and record keeping on service schedules and reports
- Potentially visits to customer’s premises abroad for up to a maximum of 2/3 weeks per visit, once or twice per year may be required.
- You will act as the company representative whilst on customers’ premises
Background / skill requirements
- Good telephone manner essential
- Able to work and plan schedules on own initiative
- Applicant must have a good working knowledge of: - Microsoft Word. Excel, databases etc. Specific ‘on the job’ training will be given to supplement the above core skills
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality system & ISO 14001 Environment, and Health & safety regulations and preparation of risk assessments and method statements would be an advantage.
- Energetic and flexible work ethic - multi-tasking ability.
- Full, Clean driving licence essential.
Salary
Salary will be negotiable, based on experience. A car will be provided and other benefits
Location
Based at our Office at Amberley Court, Sheffield S9, but mainly working on customer premises in the UK and Overseas
Conditions
- 39 Hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8-30am to 5-00pm, Friday 8-30am to 4.00pm
- Half hour lunch break daily
- However, you must be prepared to work extra time, as and when required, particularly during busy periods in order to maintain the customers’ service requirements
- Full time permanent position for the right person
- Initial 6 months trial period
- Immediate start available.
